In my quest for effective solutions, incorporating targeted serums played a vital role. Salicylic acid at night became a staple in my routine, working to unclog pores and prevent future breakouts. In the morning, niacinamide brought a calming effect, aiding in reducing inflammation and promoting a more even skin tone.
This journey has been a testament to the importance of understanding my skin's unique needs and avoiding a one-size-fits-all approach. It taught me that consistency and simplicity often triumph over complexity. The clearest my skin has ever been was when I lived off grid in a schoolie for a year. Minimal stress, lots of time outside in fresh clean air, no makeup, and very little face washing. My skin texture is much smoother now, although I have more hyperpigmentation. Photos below:
